We offer a full and varied programme of activities and services in our care homes

We believe living in one of our homes should be no different than living in your own home, and that is why we offer a full and varied programme of activities and services designed to both stimulate and relax.

Each one of our homes has a visiting hairdresser, physiotherapist and aromatherapist and our residents are also encouraged to see the visiting Chiropodist, Dentist and Optician.

Wellburn Care Homes has its own mini-bus, which allows us to regularly take our residents out on trips around the Yorkshire and North east areas, which could involve a day out at the seaside or enjoying some peaceful time in the countryside or visiting one of the local heritage sites.

This activity programme is complemented by good home cooked food and residents have a wide variety of weekly menus to choose from, including a healthy eating option every day.

No pressure is put on a resident to take part in any activities, they decide how much, or little, they would like to do. Someone may wish to spend an afternoon reading a newspaper while someone else may want to play games, which can vary from cards and bingo to bowling on a Nintendo Wii.

At the end of the day we want our residents to feel happy, less stressed and with a sense of freedom so they can continue to enjoy spending time with their family and friends.
